"Mother, why do you disturb me?"
"Can't a puppy just lie here in peace?"
Abby's coloring is coming in nicely
Yes, this is how Ginger often likes to sleep. She will actually jump up on the loveseat, and knock pillows around (or completely off) and arrange them until she is comfortable.
Ok, so there's a story behind this cat tree. My mom didn't want it anymore because it had a "funk". So I jumped at the chance to get a free cat tree (they often cost $100+). But let me tell you, we worked for it. I naively thought I could simply use Resolve, Febreze, and pet odor neutralizer to get the smell out. Not even close. That completed Phase I. Phase II consisted of the hope that if we left it outside on our patio to air out and sit in the sun, maybe mother nature would get it out. Wrong again. So for Phase III, we meant business. Michael basically washed it like he washes our car: baby shampoo and water and scrubbed it with a rag. The whole thing was soaked and smelled fresh, except for the base where the funk resided. At this point, the funk had lessened in its intensity, so we thought it might be good enough to bring back inside (after it dried completely of course). Again, so wrong. It stunk up the whole downstairs in a matter of two hours. So outside it went again. Now we were really determined and decided that Phase IV was it or the cat tree would get tossed in the dumpster. So we bought a foil pan large enough to sit the base of the cat tree in and poured an entire jug of lavender scented bleach in the pan. We let it soak for an hour and then rinsed the base to get the chemicals out. Fortunately, Phase IV was successful - it just took the color out of the carpet. So now as you can see in the above picture, the cat tree has been revived. It made it all worth it to see how much the cats, especially Fred, liked it.

"Thank you for this gift. It much pleases the King of Purrrrrsia."

This is what happens to Ginger after we take her to the park and throw her tennis ball around until she's exhausted.
"I'm a pooped puppy!"
Here you can see how some blonde coloring is starting to come in, especially on her shoulders and hips. One thing that's strange is there is blonde showing up along her spine, which is supposed to stay black. Not sure how it will turn out, but she'll always be our little beauty!
