Party Like It's Christmas

On December 9th we helped put on our NWYM class' annual Christmas Party. The Lewises and Ortegas did the bulk of the planning and creativity behind the decorations...we just showed up and did what we were told. I think it turned out fabulous and it was a night of fun and holiday cheer.

They arranged for Maddens to cater the food, which was delicious. Jamie also decorated an area specifically for holiday photos to be taken:

We also enjoyed the traditional ornament exchange game. Each couple (or person if you chose) was asked to bring a wrapped ornament. Then for each wrapped ornament you brought, you could draw a number, which determines the order you get to open or steal an ornament. It's like White Elephant gift exchanging. In the past four years we've seen some pretty outrageous ornaments, so this year we were prepared and picked an alligator ornament with spring-loaded arms, legs, and lower jaw. He looked like he was having a seizure. There were also some ornaments that were worthy of most outrageous: a glitter gun (life-size), a fish with a hook in its mouth, and a flying pig. We came home with a normal looking ornament - a sea turtle. It was a very fun night!
