Sorry it's been so long since we've posted - but at least we have a lot to share! On April 2nd Michael competed in an arm wrestling tournament, the Ronnie Coleman Classic to be exact. Here's the background: On New Year's, we were reading in bed when Michael stated that he'd like to compete in an arm wrestling tournament this year. So, he read a lot about it and watched a LOT of YouTube videos and signed up to compete on April 2nd. He planned a workout regimen and cut back on excess calories in order to make it into the 155-176 weight class.
On Friday, April 1st, Michael and I (and our dogs) drove up to Mesquite, TX. He made his weight class, which meant he could eat whatever he wanted afterwards - so he ate two dinners. Yes, seriously. We stayed with the Gardners and their sweet pup Buttercup. Since they live in a house, they have a big yard, which Ginger and Abby LOVED playing in.
Then on Saturday we headed off for the competition. It was a very interesting place because there was also a bodybuilding competition in the same location. But Michael did great - he won 1st place in his weight class for the right-hand competition and 2nd place for left-hand! When asked if he plans to compete again, his reply was, "Oh yeah!"
It was also fun to have several people there to cheer him on: The Cherrys, Drew, Michael's mom and sister, and of course me. Thank you all for supporting him!
So there you have it friends and family, The Yagernator. I am so proud of all the dedication and hard work he put into this!
